Translating in the Community

Translating small documents and posters free of charge for voluntary organisations.

The Community Translator will co-ordinate between charities and professional translators, in the case of long complicated documents.

Contiuous monitoring will be undertaken to ensure an effective development of the service.

Simultaneous Translation

There are seven sets of translating equipment available to use for translating in meetings and committees.

The translation equipnment wll be available free of charge for volunteer groups and will also be available for hire to other groups.

The four Menter Initiatives will have a set of Translation equipment for use in their own areas and the Community Translator will maintain the equipment.

LOCAL SCHOOLS, COMMUNITY / VOLUNTARY GROUPS
Schools are asked to pay the translator at the same rates as those chared by the local authority. In her absence, other translators will charge for their services.
If collected by yourselves the equipment will be provided free of charge
